So here's the "boundaries" animation with sound...I am not sure how the sound levels are.
they don't peak but go past the mid-point. yet, i have to turn up my speakers a lot to hear anything.
Are they ok? Not ok? I'm so great at sound.

Also there's a part that drives me nuts with "footsies"...the sound crackles a tiny. drives me insane, i don't know how that happened. playing with the levels doesn't help at all, either.

Here's what's left to do:
-space out more between frames
-make the hands at the end linger longer, now they disappear in the final seconds
-mask out the writing on one of the hands holding hands in the first scene....i wanted it to look natural, but everyone asks "why is there writing on her hand??"
-if time permits, revisit some of the green screen. You can see it pretty bad in the holding hands scene in the fleshtone.

So I need an opinion: I changed the lighting around, giving it depth, but I don't know...do you like this one or the previous one better?????
I'm lost, I can't tell anymore.

Changed some things around....this is for the "contact" animation.

Andy! Help!

The easy-ease frames look terrible!! :(

I altered the ease keyframes in the graph editor, but when i make the peak more drastic the top is far too pinched. I tried fixing that, and it just didn't work...not sure what to do!!! Eeek!

I want to cast away on the banks of New York too!

I'd be posting my work, but After Effects is being a bitch with regards to sound...it says AIFF files are acceptable (as Adobe's site claims), but when I open my project it says files are missing, and they're always the sound files.

Forget IP...I want to live on a boat!!!!!! One of my favorite artists, Swoon, is doing this AMAZING project...I can't believe the creativity in people sometimes. Forget getting a job, I'd forgo it all just to do something like this.....wow, this is soooo exciting!!!!!!!!!!

So...tape or straight pins? I did a mock-up with the pins AND tape...i've had about 50-50 on the polls I've taken on people.

Well, anyway, I decided to render one with tape. I'm leaning toward tape...(oh, and i know on the last scene the tape goes away too fast from the borders...i've fixed that. Didn't want to re-render it as it took 4 hours to render last time.)

Didn't realize it when I shot it, but some people have suggested that the last scene might insinuate anti-interracial ideas. I am going to visit the teens today (Thursday) to do some voice-overs, so I'll probably reshoot these.

Also, finalizing "equation" animation....here's a screenshot.

Background Troubles Again

I'm having such difficutly with this animation's background. Flat plane or none at all? I really don't like these colors, they don't have enough contrast.

So, I went mad and reworked the setting for my "boundaries" piece. Let me know if the new placement works for y'all.

Research = Procrastination

Beautiful examples of how motion graphics can change the world....or at least one viewpoint at a time!!!

Fruits of my labor...still needs a lot of work, which you may or may not see soon...

HELP!!!

So, I'm going a bit..well, more than a bit crazy. I've lost it. I've been trying for WEEKS now to get the perfect background for two of my animations, and so far have failed at every and all attempt.

I hate backgrounds.
I hate backgrounds.
I hate backgrounds.
This is why nobody does animations alone...they begin to hate backgrounds.

So, I've worked a tiny bit during break...but only a tiny. Went to New York to realize I love and miss the west coast dearly.
Here's my updated version of the equation animation. I've tilted the paper back and worked with the characters standing on it. Problem is how to open the animation...I wanted to have the critters pop out of a drawing of them into a 3D form. That'd be cool...question is, can it be done? In time?

I'm running out of that stuff FAST! I should've worked more on it last semester and just jumped into it instead of focusing so hard on concept. I twiddled with that too much.

Here's an updated version of my "Boundaries" animation, with a new background and new closing text. Still need to tweak some stuff but it's getting there.
