Meeting with Safe House

So after meeting with Michelle from Safe House we got to discuss concerns with the storyboards, as well as finding what works.

The big matter was to address these problems practically, which some storyboards did better than others.

Here are two of them modified. The storyboard with the hands will have to be modified a bit more drastically and therefore will be posted later. I do know what I'm going to do for it, though, which is exciting!

Storyboards finalized....maybe?

So I THINK (think think think) I may have the storyboards down to three select works:

I figured it would be nice to have two focus on Safe House intervention and look at verbal abuse as equal form of abuse as physical, followed by one which instructs you on how to contact Safe House.

Not sure if this is the direction Teen Voice was looking for, I will most likely meet with them either later this week or next.
Hopefully our meeting goes well!

New/Updated Storyboards

Today I revisited and altered the "equation" storyboard:

May still need work, but it's getting there.

Also began work on the guidelines I adopted called "Communication in Conflict":

Here's the rule saying you should "clarify thoughts" and perhaps "talk to an objective person".
I think the alien is a bit cheesy so I might change him to a giant hamster or something amusing & unpredictable.

Illustrated here is the guide advising you on how to receive criticism. Diagrams and scientific, structural & pictoral maps have always interested me. Here I found a way to combine these interests by making the brain a mini-machine of sorts (which it is, truthfully).

Randomly I also decided to make a whole new animation on how to reach Safe House.

I like the idea of having one animation about the horrors of abuse, another on how to achieve a healthy relationships, and one last one on how to contact Safe House. Perhaps this will be the most effective way on how to tackle the issues & guide the teens in their presentations. I've requested from Safe House the old recordings they have of Teen Voice doing presentations, but they've yet to get back to me. That may change my approach.
